Books

Income, expenses, and recurring ledgers, filters, and how they post to accounting.

Books has three sections in the sidebar: Income, Expenses, and Recurring. Each has search, date range, bank, and currency filters.

Books income

Workflow: Record money in Books. Marketing: Books.

Income

Customer receipts. Payer is the customer. Optional links: invoice and project.

Expenses

Money you paid. Payee is the vendor. Link a project when the cost belongs to a deal. Category controls both the payee picker and whether the row is operating or a project cost.

Recurring

Templates that create expense rows on a schedule. Use for rent, tools, or salary.

A Books save also posts to the journal. If posting fails, the Books row does not stay. You do not need to enter the journal by hand for a normal income or expense.

Closed fiscal periods and cleared bank rows stay locked. See Accounting and What you can delete.

A legacy /books address redirects to Income.
