Ship the goods
Log partial shipments, carriers, freight, and proof photos on a sourcing project.
Shipping lives on project details for sourcing projects. Service projects do not show the shipping tracker.
Add a shipment
- Open the sourcing project.
- Open the shipping tracker.
- Add a shipment.
- Pick a shipping company (Companies → Shipping tab). New shipments need that company. Do not type a free-text agent on new saves.
- Add product lines. You cannot ship more than the remaining ordered quantity.
- Save.
You can split a deal across more than one shipment (more than one SKU per shipment is fine).
Progress
Exreach shows how much of each product is still unshipped. A line is complete when remaining quantity is 0.
Freight
Log freight as a Books shipping expense on the project. You can open that form from the shipment. After the expense is linked, you cannot edit or delete the shipment. Fix typos before you log the expense. Change money in Books.
Proof photos (up to 12) stay editable after the expense is linked, until the project is closed.
Inventory fulfillment (Pro)
On Pro, each shipment has a fulfillment mode:
- Purchase (default): you buy for this deal. Stock in Inventory does not move.
- Inventory: you draw the full line quantity from one warehouse.
You cannot mix modes on one shipment. Use two shipments if part of the deal is from stock and part is a new buy. Mode and warehouse lock after stock posts.
Lite workspaces never see inventory mode. See Inventory.
After delivery
Set project status to delivered, then close the project. Close uses Books and ledger totals for shipping. The tracker does not write billed shipping on the project header.
