Read profit
Use Deal P&L on Accounting overview and Books P&L on the income statement.
Exreach shows two profit views. They can differ until projects are closed and Books catch up. That is expected.
Deal P&L (Accounting overview)
Open Accounting. The gross section uses closed (reconciled) projects only.
- Gross profit = revenue − product cost − shipping − other costs
- Gross margin % = gross profit ÷ revenue (not markup)
- Net profit = gross profit − operating expenses
- Outstanding = pending invoices plus work that is not closed yet
Filter by this month, quarter, year, or lifetime.

Books P&L (income statement)
Open Accounting → Income statement for profit from posted Books and ledger activity, in the workspace base currency (Settings → General).
Use this view when you want the accounting books, not only closed deals.
What to check when numbers disagree
- Are all finished jobs closed? Open projects do not enter Deal P&L.
- Are customer receipts in Books → Income and linked to the invoice?
- Are factory, freight, and inspection costs in Books → Expenses on the project?
- Did you log operating costs (salary, office) as expenses without a project, or with an overhead category?
